Battlefield 4: Dragons Teeth - Free!

Battlefield 4: Dragon's Teeth is free for a week

EA says other previously-released Battlefield expansions will be made free over the coming months.

If you're still playing Battlefield 4 but haven't yet picked up the Dragon's Teeth DLC that was released a couple of years ago, you may now, and for the next week, get it (and keep it forever) for free.

Battlefield 4: Dragon's Teeth will be available at no cost until May 10, and it will be followed by other previously-released expansions, for both BF4 and Battlefield Hardline, over the next few months. There will also be new Community Missions rolled out, including a Melee Kills mission that's live now—score 2.5 million Melee Kills to get a Gold Battlepack—and “a whole lot more to get excited about” is on the way, EA said.

Dragon's Teeth includes four “urban combat” maps—Sunken Dragon, Propaganda, Pearl Market, and Lumphini Garden—a new game mode called Chain Link, and an unmanned ground vehicle packing a grenade launcher and a machine gun called the R.A.W.R. It's not exactly the new hotness in the videogame realm, having originally come out in 2014, but it's free and that's almost as good.

All of this, of course, is part of the lead-up to the “Battlefield World Premiere”—an announcement of Battlefield 5 is the safe assumption—that will be revealed to the world at 4 pm ET on May 6, and then the release of the game, which EA said will take place later this year. Get it while you can from Origin.

Update: EA has added Battlefield Hardline's Robbery DLC to the free pile until May 10.

Thanks for the info, already got it but it is probably the best expansion for BF4. All 4 are excellent maps and the chain link game mode is also superb.

Battlefield 4: Second Assault is free for a week

As a sort of lead-in to the launch of Battlefield 1, EA has announced that it will be making select BF4/Hardline expansion packs free for a limited time. The first of these is Second Assault for Battlefield 4, which contains four maps from Battlefield 3, maps that have been "updated with the power of the Frostbite 3 engine". Here it is on Origin, but if you're into procrastination, be aware that it's only free until June 28. After that it'll be yours to keep, however.

Here's a reminder of what Second Assault contains.

Four new maps: destroy the ceilings of the flooded Operation Metro. Bring down the communications tower of the new Caspian Border. Create flammable hazards on Operation Firestorm and dodge Gulf of Oman’s sand storm. Second Assault pushes the fan-favorites to their limits.

New and familiar: with five weapons re-mastered for Battlefield 4, the return of the Dune Buggy vehicle, ten new assignments, and the Capture the Flag game mode, Second Assault combines familiar grounds with all-new features.

Caspian Border reimagined: Caspian Border is a true Battlefield 4 classic, and in Second Assault the map has been redesigned with Frostbite 3 graphics, Levolution moments, and a breath-taking autumn setting.
